Navigating the Road to Success

Do you feel that at certain times, the road to success and happiness feels endless?

On these days I find myself, often subconsciously, searching for validation why I should not engage in activities that I find more demanding, rather than tackle them head on - it can be something super simple like telling ourselves our body needs rest, not a workout!

Of course occasionally, downtime or rest is absolutely necessary, but 99% of the time we feel so much better having made the effort.

It is those moments that test us the most that are our most formative. If we want to develop, both emotionally and physically, we need to push and be pushed.

And yet, we need to learn our limits so whilst we can continually aspire to be the best version of ourselves we also, perhaps even more crucially, understand how to handle those times (be it temporary or longer term) that we feel under the most pressure.

Here are some helpful tips inspired by @mindcharity that can really help us to handle various types of pressure and develop into our best self:

💫Identify your best time of day, and do the important tasks that need the most energy and concentration then

💫Make a ‘to-do’ list. Arrange items in order of importance, and try to focus on the most urgent first. Creating a timetable can also be really useful to plan when to spend time on each task

💫Set smaller, manageable action steps that work towards larger goals. This can make you feel in more control and you can identify your achievements more easily

💫Vary activities. Balance inspiring tasks with more mundane ones, and stressful ones with those you find less challenging

💫Focus your energies. Taking on too much, may make it harder to do any individual task well, leading to greater pressure

💫Take breaks & take it slow. It might be difficult to do this when you're stressed, but it can make you more productive

💫Seek support. Friends or family are an invaluable support system and may be able to lend a hand or provide crucial moral support, allowing more time for completing tasks that are a source of anxiety
